- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 small onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 (14.5-ounce) can diced tomatoes
- 1 (8-ounce) can tomato sauce
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 2 cups cooked egg noodles
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/4 cup chopped green onions (for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- In a large skillet, cook ground beef and diced onion over medium heat until beef is browned. Drain excess fat.
- Add minced garlic and cook for 1 more minute.
- Stir in diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, salt, black pepper, and Italian seasoning. Simmer for 10 minutes.
- In a mixing bowl, combine cooked egg noodles and sour cream.
- Layer half of the noodle mixture in the prepared baking dish.
- Top with half of the beef mixture and half of the shredded cheddar cheese.
- Repeat layers, finishing with shredded mozzarella cheese on top.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Garnish with chopped green onions before serving.
Notes
For extra flavor, use fire-roasted tomatoes and add a pinch of red pepper flakes.
