Description

Delicious homemade cheese bread with a soft, fluffy interior and a golden, cheesy crust.


Ingredients

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 ¼ teaspoons active dry yeast (1 packet)
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup warm water (about 110°F/45°C)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil or melted butter
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or your choice)
  • Optional Add-ins:
  • Fresh herbs (such as rosemary, thyme, or oregano)
  • Garlic powder or minced garlic
  • Black pepper

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, yeast, and salt.
  2. Slowly add warm water and olive oil, mixing until a dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough for about 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Cover and let the dough rise in a warm place for about an hour or until doubled in size.
  5. Punch down the dough and mix in the shredded cheese and any optional add-ins.
  6. Shape the dough into a loaf or rolls and place on a baking sheet.
  7. Let it rise again for about 30 minutes.
  8. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  9. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
  10. Let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

For extra flavor, brush the top with melted butter and sprinkle with more cheese before baking.
