Ingredients

- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 ¼ teaspoons active dry yeast (1 packet)
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup warm water (about 110°F/45°C)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil or melted butter
- 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or your choice)
- Optional Add-ins:
- Fresh herbs (such as rosemary, thyme, or oregano)
- Garlic powder or minced garlic
- Black pepper
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, yeast, and salt.
- Slowly add warm water and olive oil, mixing until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough for about 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Cover and let the dough rise in a warm place for about an hour or until doubled in size.
- Punch down the dough and mix in the shredded cheese and any optional add-ins.
- Shape the dough into a loaf or rolls and place on a baking sheet.
- Let it rise again for about 30 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
- Let cool slightly before serving.
Notes
For extra flavor, brush the top with melted butter and sprinkle with more cheese before baking.
