- Crust & Topping:
- 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
- 1 ½ cups granulated sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- ½ tsp salt
- 1 (21 oz) can cherry pie filling
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- In a large bowl, beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- Stir in vanilla extract.
- Gradually mix in flour and salt until well combined.
- Spread ⅔ of the dough into the prepared baking dish.
- Evenly spread the cherry pie filling over the crust.
- Drop spoonfuls of the remaining dough over the cherry layer.
- Bake for 35-40 minutes or until the top is golden brown.
- Let cool before slicing and serving.
Notes
For an extra touch, drizzle with a simple powdered sugar glaze before serving.
