- Salt & freshly ground black pepper, to taste
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 4 tablespoons butter (½ stick), divided
- 8 ounces cremini mushrooms, sliced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- Flour for dredging + 2 tablespoons flour
- ½ cup chicken broth
- 1½ cups heavy cream
- 6 slices Muenster cheese (or Swiss, Gruyère, or Provolone)
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat the Oven: Set oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Prepare the Chicken: Season chicken with salt and pepper. Dredge in flour and shake off excess.
- Sear the Chicken: Heat olive oil and 2 tbsp butter in an oven-safe skillet over medium-high. Sear chicken for 3–4 minutes per side. Set aside.
- Sauté the Mushrooms: Melt remaining 2 tbsp butter in same skillet. Add mushrooms and cook for 5–7 minutes.
