  • 2 cups mozzarella cheese, shredded, divided

  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Meat Mixture: Brown the ground beef and Italian sausage together in a skillet over medium-high heat, breaking it up with a wooden spoon until no pink remains (5-7 minutes). Drain excess fat but leave a little for flavor. Set aside to cool slightly.
  2. Preheat and Prepare: Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C).
  3. Create the Foundation: Unroll one pie crust and press it into a deep-dish pie pan (at least 2 inches deep).
  4. Build the Cheese Barrier: Sprinkle 1 cup of mozzarella evenly over the bottom crust.
  5. Layer the Meaty Goodness: Spread the browned meat mixture over the cheese layer, pressing gently. Arrange about ¾ cup of pepperoni slices over the meat.
