Ingredients

  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1/4 cup parmesan cheese, grated
  • 1 lb lump crab meat, drained and picked through
  • 3 green onions, thinly sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp Old Bay seasoning
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper (adjust to taste)
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice, freshly squeezed
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Let cream cheese soften at room temperature or microwave for 15-20 seconds until soft.
  2. In a large bowl, mix softened cream cheese, mayonnaise, and sour cream until smooth using an electric mixer.
  3. Fold in cheddar cheese, parmesan, garlic, Old Bay seasoning, Worcestershire sauce, cayenne, lemon juice, salt, and pepper. Mix until combined.
  4. Gently fold in crab meat and green onions, being careful to keep crab chunks intact.
  5. Transfer to a 1-quart baking dish or 9-inch pie plate. Smooth top and add extra cheese if desired.
  6. Bake for 25-30 minutes until hot and bubbling. Broil for 1-2 minutes at the end for a golden top.
  7. Garnish with chopped parsley and let sit 5 minutes before serving with chips, bread, or vegetables.

Notes

Use room temperature dairy for a smooth texture. Splurge on high-quality lump crab for best results. Can be made ahead and baked just before serving. Avoid overbaking to keep the dip creamy.
