Who says pancakes have to be sweet? These fluffy, cheesy, and savory pancakes are packed with beef ham and gooey melted cheese, making them perfect for breakfast, brunch, or even dinner!

- 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- ½ tsp baking soda
- ½ tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
- 1 ¼ cups buttermilk (or regular milk with 1 tsp vinegar)
- 2 large eggs
- 2 tbsp melted butter
- ½ cup shredded cheddar or mozzarella cheese
- ½ cup diced beef ham (or beef bacon)
- 2 tbsp chopped green onions (optional)
- ½ tsp garlic powder (optional)
- Butter or oil for cooking
Instructions
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and black pepper.
- In another bowl, whisk buttermilk, eggs, and melted butter until smooth.
- Gradually add the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients, stirring until just combined (don’t overmix!). Fold in cheese, diced beef ham, and green onions.
- Heat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat and grease with butter or oil. Pour ¼ cup of batter for each pancake. Cook until bubbles form on top, then flip and cook for another 1-2 minutes.
- Stack the pancakes and serve warm with extra cheese, sour cream, or a drizzle of honey for a sweet-savory twist!
Notes
For an extra crispy texture, cook the pancakes slightly longer on low heat and add a bit more cheese on top before flipping!
