Description
A rich and savory Swiss Mushroom Melt with juicy beef, melted Swiss cheese, and perfectly grilled sourdough or rye bread.
Ingredients
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 lb ground beef (80/20 blend)
- 4 slices Swiss cheese
- 1 tbsp butter
- 4 slices sourdough or rye bread
- 1 cup mushrooms (sliced)
- 1 tbsp oil for grilling
- 2 tbsp mayo or garlic aioli
- 1 tsp salt & black pepper
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix ground beef, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and black pepper.
- Form into 4 equal patties.
- Heat a skillet over medium heat with 1 tbsp oil.
- Cook the patties for 3-4 minutes per side or until desired doneness.
- In a separate pan, melt butter and sauté mushrooms until golden brown.
- Spread mayo or garlic aioli on one side of each bread slice.
- Assemble the sandwiches by placing a cooked patty, sautéed mushrooms, and a slice of Swiss cheese between two slices of bread.
- Grill the sandwiches on a skillet until golden brown on both sides.
- Serve hot and enjoy!
Notes
For extra crunch, add caramelized onions or crispy bacon to the melt.
