Description

A rich and savory Swiss Mushroom Melt with juicy beef, melted Swiss cheese, and perfectly grilled sourdough or rye bread.


Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 lb ground beef (80/20 blend)
  • 4 slices Swiss cheese
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 4 slices sourdough or rye bread
  • 1 cup mushrooms (sliced)
  • 1 tbsp oil for grilling
  • 2 tbsp mayo or garlic aioli
  • 1 tsp salt & black pepper

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix ground beef, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and black pepper.
  2. Form into 4 equal patties.
  3. Heat a skillet over medium heat with 1 tbsp oil.
  4. Cook the patties for 3-4 minutes per side or until desired doneness.
  5. In a separate pan, melt butter and sauté mushrooms until golden brown.
  6. Spread mayo or garlic aioli on one side of each bread slice.
  7. Assemble the sandwiches by placing a cooked patty, sautéed mushrooms, and a slice of Swiss cheese between two slices of bread.
  8. Grill the sandwiches on a skillet until golden brown on both sides.
  9. Serve hot and enjoy!

Notes

For extra crunch, add caramelized onions or crispy bacon to the melt.
